Your 5 Days Mountain Gorilla and Golden Monkey Safari begins when you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, or after breakfast at your hotel if you are already in Uganda. You will meet your safari guide for a briefing about the journey before beginning a Kampala city tour.

Your first stop will be the Uganda Museum, where you will learn about Uganda's history, culture, traditions, and heritage through its collection of historical and cultural exhibits. You will then enjoy lunch before exploring some of Kampala's local markets. This provides an opportunity to purchase personal items needed for the safari as well as locally made crafts and souvenirs.

After the city tour, you will transfer to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

After breakfast, meet your driver-guide and begin the scenic journey from Kampala or Entebbe to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The drive takes approximately 6–7 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions. Along the way, you will enjoy changing landscapes as the journey takes you from central Uganda towards the beautiful hills and volcanic landscapes of southwestern Uganda. There will be a stop for lunch along the way, with opportunities to see plantations, rolling hills, rural communities, and the beautiful countryside.

Upon arrival near Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, check into your lodge and take time to relax and prepare for the exciting gorilla trekking experience the following day.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters, where you will meet the park rangers for document verification and a detailed briefing about gorilla trekking rules, safety, and responsible wildlife viewing. You will then begin your trek through the beautiful montane forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla group. The trek can take several hours depending on the location and movements of the gorillas. Along the way, enjoy the forest scenery, vegetation, birdlife, and other wildlife.

Once you locate the gorillas, you will have a designated period to observe them from a safe and respectful distance. Watching these magnificent primates interact within their natural habitat is an unforgettable wildlife experience and a major highlight of any Uganda gorilla trekking safari. After the trek, return to the starting point and transfer back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Depending on time and energy levels, an optional evening activity may be arranged before dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, prepare for another exciting primate adventure golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You will report to the park headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing and document verification before beginning your trek through the forest. Golden monkeys are an endangered primate species and are particularly associated with the Virunga region. During the trek, you will have the opportunity to observe these fascinating animals in their natural habitat.

You may also encounter other primates and forest wildlife, including red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons, and L'Hoest's monkeys, depending on the location and conditions. After the trek, return for lunch before heading out for an unforgettable Batwa cultural experience.

The Batwa are indigenous forest communities with a long history of living in and around the forests of the Albertine Rift. During the cultural encounter, you will learn about their traditional knowledge, forest lifestyle, hunting and gathering practices, traditional tools, music, dance, and cultural heritage.

The experience provides a meaningful opportunity to appreciate the relationship between the Batwa people and the forest. After the cultural experience, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport. The return journey takes approximately 6–7 hours, depending on road conditions and your final destination.

Along the way, you will have an opportunity to stop at the Equator crossing, where you can take photographs, enjoy lunch, and purchase souvenirs. After the stopover, continue your journey to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
